Welcome to Gracefully Organized's NEW blog! Are people still blogging these days?! I feel like I'm way late to the party, but my facebook followers showed interest in an organizing blog, so, here I am! For my dedicated followers!
I wanted to start simple - with an introduction. My name is CJ Grace, and I am the founder, owner, and organizer of Gracefully Organized. I started this business in early 2018 after much consideration and encouragement. After getting married in May of 2017, my husband and I set a goal to become debt-free by November 2017. We worked really hard to achieve that goal, and paid off over $50K of student loan debt in 6 months!! It was an amazing accomplishment and gave us a true sense of financial freedom. Once we became debt free, and had no burden of debt payments, the possibilities of starting my own business became more of a reality. It seemed within reach.
As a naturally organized person, a compassionate listener with the heart of a teacher, it became clear that launching this business was the perfect way to connect with clients AND put my talents to work. Helping clients achieve their dreams by allowing them to focus on themselves and let go of the worry and stress of their spaces is what excites me most about my business.
Some fun facts about my business - the name is inspired by my new last name, Grace. It is a blessing to be able to create spaces of grace - spaces that recharge us when we're feeling low, spaces that energize us to pursue our dreams. I know Gracefully Organized is a mouthful, but the meaning behind the name felt worth it to have 6 long syllables. :-)
Some other fun facts about me - I live in Sheboygan, WI with my husband, Joe, and our 2 Brittany spaniels, Jazz and June. I grew up in a small town in Western Massachusetts where my family still is today. I enjoy traveling to spend time with both our families, being outside, walking the dogs the couple blocks to Lake Michigan, downhill skiing (although it's been a while), quilting when I have time, cooking and baking. My favorite thing to bake is Peanut Butter and Jelly Cake for my husbands birthday every year. Maybe I'll share the recipe on a future blog ;-).
Here's a short list of some of my favorite organizing things:
My favorite organizing Ah-ha Moment
When I had the idea to put a bin in the fridge that held all of our smoothie supplies so we could take it all out at one time, I was like, GENIUS!! Jackpot. Highly recommend :-) Blog post about this and other fridge organizing tips coming soon.
My favorite organizing product
I love clear acrylic bins, specifically for organizing the fridge (see previous Favorite). My favorite brand I found at TJ Maxx of all places, its called Core Products. They stack well and are nice and durable.
My favorite productivity app
Google Keep. I use it daily to keep track of thoughts or lists or ideas. I do all my grocery planning on Keep and use the check boxes as I'm filling my cart in the store. You can also share lists with other people so my husband and I often share lists about ideas for vacation, home improvements, etc.
My favorite space to organize
I love organizing pantries and kitchens! I spend a lot of time cooking so I appreciate the value of well laid out and organized kitchen.
My favorite weeknight meal
A quinoa veggie bowl with quinoa, steamed veggies, fresh diced tomato, and feta cheese. Maybe some sauteed chicken breasts in there, too. So quick, so tasty, so nutritious, and we almost always have the ingredients on hand. Might have to go make some right now...
My favorite time of day to organize
Morning! I am def a morning person and getting stuff organized early gives me energy for the rest of the day :-) ok I'm a little crazy.
There you have it folks! A little more about me before we get into the good stuff.
I'd love to hear from you in the comments... what is your favorite productivity app?!
